NoSQL – a terrorist movement?

June 8th, 2010 by Christian Hasker

Our VP and GM of the database business unit, Billy Bosworth, was presenting at an Executive Briefing last week at our headquarters. About 30 CIOs from all over the world convened to discuss trends and technologies in the industry. Billy was presenting our product directions and came to the section on Toad for Cloud Databases. He asked the audience how many of them had heard of or were using NoSQL databases. One CIO shouted out…’NoSQL – what is that, it sounds like a terrorist organization?’

PS – for the record only a couple of CIOs had heard the term and no-one was using NoSQL. It will be interesting to see how that changes over time.
